Gweithdy Bangor | Bangor Workshop

Mis diwethaf roedden ni’n Bangor, Gogledd Cymru, yn cynnal Gweithdy NCBI 2 ddiwrnod. Mae Bangor yn lle prydferth, yn llawn bryniau a chymoedd tonnog ac yn eistedd ar droed Parc Cenedlaethol Eryri. Daeth ein holl gyfranogwyr y gweithdy “dros y bryn” i gyrraedd Neuadd Goffa, canolfan gymunedol hyfryd o gryno ym Mynydd Llandegai, Bangor. I’r un o’r tu allan, doedden ni byth yn siŵr a oedd “dros y bryn” yn golygu’r ‘un bryn’ neu ‘fryn arall’ eto. Roedd sŵn chwerthin bob tro y cafodd ei ddweud. Mae’n debyg, pan fo cymaint o fryniau i ddewis ohonynt, eich bod yn cael eu hawlio nhw i gyd
O’r “croeso” cyntaf, roedd y gymuned yn barod i ymgysylltu. Roedden nhw’n awyddus i ddysgu mwy gan y grŵp gwahanol hwn o bobl a gyrhaeddodd eu rhanbarth o Sussex, Bryste, Hampshire a Llundain. Roedd eu ffocws yn bendant yn un o ‘tybed beth sydd ganddyn nhw i’w ddysgu i ni’.
Yn y broses o ddysgu, cafwyd sgyrsiau am wella perthnasoedd trwy ryw, dosbarth, hil, ethnigrwydd, profiadau bywyd a mwy. Cawsom hefyd brosesu cynghreiriaeth, deallusrwydd emosiynol a rheoli gwrthdaro ochr yn ochr â hanes pobl Cymru. Cawsom hefyd gofleidio’r iaith Gymraeg a materion trawsnewid lleol megis yr adweithydd niwclear a mwy.
O’r adborth gwerthuso a dderbyniwyd, nid oedd pobl Bangor wedi’u siomi. Roedden nhw i gyd yn cyfeirio at ddysgu, tyfu, ymgysylltu, hwyl a mwy.

IN ENGLISH
Last month we were in Bangor, North Wales, delivering a 2-day NCBI Workshop to a keen group of people who want to know more and make a difference in their community. Bangor is a beautiful place, full of rolling hills and valleys and sitting at the feet of Snowdonia National Park. Our workshop participants all came “from over the hill” to get to Neuadd Goffa, a beautifully compact community centre in Mynydd Llandegai, Bangor. To the outsider we were never sure if “over the hill” meant the ‘same hill’ or yet ‘another hill’. Every time it was said there was a chuckle. I guess having so many hills to choose from, you get to claim them all.
From the first “welcome” the community was ready to engage. They were keen to learn more from this disparate group of people that arrived in their region from Sussex, Bristol, Hampshire and London. Their focus was definitely that of ‘wonder what they have to teach us’.
In the process of learning conversations about enhancing relationships through gender, class, race, ethnicity, life experiences and more. We also got to process allyship, emotional intelligence and managing conflicts alongside the history of Welsh people. We got to also embrace the Welsh language and localised transformation matters such as the nuclear reactor and more.
From the evaluation feedback received the people of Bangor were not disappointed. They all referenced learning, growth, engagement, fun and more.
